The third president of Georgia commented on the legal cases opened against him, emphasizing once again that the official indictments in the so-called “suits case” and the “November 7 case” were signed by the then-Prosecutor General, Otar Partskhaladze. Writing on social media, Mikheil Saakashvili stated:
“Independent channels have covered my ‘trial’ excellently. The faces of those accusing me, giving testimony, and delivering the verdict have become clear—you know them yourselves. However, there was one nuance—both main channels repeated: ‘according to Mikheil Saakashvili, the charges against him were written by Romanov-Partskhaladze.’ It is not ‘according to my words,’ friends—in the ‘suits’ and ‘November 7’ cases, the official indictment was indeed signed by the then-Prosecutor General Partskhaladze.
The fact is that after the ‘Georgian Dream’ came to power, Kbilashvili [Archil Kbilashvili, the then-Prosecutor General], who was appointed to the post, did not risk bringing groundless charges against me and was removed.
Then, on instructions from Moscow, they appointed Partskhaladze, who, as it turned out, was an active FSB (Federal Security Service) officer, and it was he who fabricated the charges against me. I am still being tried based on the ‘case’ he compiled,” Mikheil Saakashvili writes.
