A five-month-old infant has died in the Polish city of Poznań after being hospitalized with severe injuries. According to Polish media reports, three people have been detained as part of the investigation, and the child’s father has been placed on a wanted list. On April 2, the child’s mother, Tamara K., brought him to a pediatric center in Poznań. The infant was subsequently transferred to the Karol Jonscher Clinical Hospital, but doctors were unable to save him; he passed away on April 8.

Medical examinations revealed a skull fracture and chronic brain damage. According to doctors, such injuries could not have resulted from a single fall and were likely inflicted over several days. Forensic medical examination also points to severe physical injuries. Preliminary expert assessments suggest they may have been caused by violent shaking, striking the head against hard objects, or a fall.

The child’s mother and two men, Aleksandr S. and Vladislav M., who were with the child, have been detained as part of the investigation. All three have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and failure to provide assistance. The child’s father, Nazguri K., is also a suspect in the case and is currently being sought by police. According to media reports, the child’s parents are Georgian citizens, while the two other detainees are citizens of Moldova.

The exact cause of the infant’s death has not yet been finalized. Experts plan to provide a final report following additional tests and an analysis of medical records. The investigation is ongoing. If convicted, the suspects could face sentences ranging from five years to life imprisonment.
