Georgia’s national water polo team defeats Ukraine

The Georgian national water polo team played its quarter-final match in the second division of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine, with the Georgian athletes securing a 20-9 victory.

The team has advanced to the semi-finals.

The match was dominated by the Georgian water polo players. The team, coached by Revaz Chomakhidze, won all four quarters (3:2, 5:4, 5:1, 7:2). Vato Dadvani was the top scorer for the Georgian side, netting five goals.

In the semi-finals, Georgia will face Germany, who defeated Australia 14-11 in their quarter-final match.

The match between Georgia and Germany will take place on April 12 at 8:00 PM.

The winner of this encounter will advance to the final and secure a spot in the World Cup Super Final, which will be held from July 22 to 26 in Australia.
