Gakharia: May the Defeat of the Russian Federation and Its Proxies Continue Worldwide

News

Former Georgian Prime Minister and leader of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, Giorgi Gakharia, congratulated the leader of the Hungarian opposition and the Hungarian people on their success in the April 12 elections.

He wished for the defeat of Russia and its proxies wherever they may be, as was the case with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is considered a Kremlin-loyal politician.

“I congratulate Péter Magyar and the Hungarian people on this historic victory. This is a win for European democracy and the entire democratic world! May the defeat of Russia and its proxy forces continue wherever they operate across the globe.

This is a significant victory over the widespread disinformation and propaganda spread by the Orbán government, which significantly undermines the integrity of elections.

Democratic forces around the world must study the Hungarian example and learn from its success in confronting and weakening the populist-authoritarian networks built by Orbán, so that they can be confronted and dismantled once and for all,” the opposition politician wrote.

“Opposition Alliance”: TISZA’s victory is a clear choice by the people of Hungary in favor of democracy

As a reminder, the 62-year-old Orbán has been in power since 2010. In the parliamentary elections on April 12, he was challenged by a formidable opposition candidate, 45-year-old Péter Magyar.

Five parties participated in the elections overall, but the real competition unfolded between two: Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party, which has governed the country for 16 years, and Péter Magyar’s Tisza party.

According to preliminary data from the parliamentary elections in Hungary on April 12, Magyar’s opposition party, Tisza, is in the lead.

The politician has already stated that the current Hungarian Prime Minister and leader of the ruling Fidesz party, Viktor Orbán, has conceded defeat and congratulated Magyar on his victory.

Orbán, in turn, noted that the election results are clear, although they are painful for him. He also stated that his party would continue to work for the benefit of Hungary while in opposition.

Magyar has already received congratulations from EU leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who emphasized that “Hungary has made a choice for Europe.”
