The “Opposition Alliance” has congratulated the people of Hungary on the victory of the Tisza party in the parliamentary elections. The statement notes that this “is unequivocally a clear and firm choice by the Hungarian people in support of democracy.”

The Georgian opposition wished the new Hungarian government success and expressed hope that in the new reality shaped by the Hungarian people’s choice, “the influence of forces beneficial to Putin’s Russia within the European Union and the entire free world will significantly weaken, and security cooperation among free nations will deepen.”

The “Opposition Alliance” emphasizes that Hungary is an integral part of European civilization, which was also clearly demonstrated by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s concession of defeat.

The coalition stated that the peaceful transfer of power is one of the most significant achievements of the democratic tradition.

It should be noted that in the parliamentary elections in Hungary on April 12, according to preliminary results, the opposition party “Tisza,” led by Péter Magyar, is in the lead.

The politician has already stated that the incumbent Hungarian Prime Minister and leader of the ruling Fidesz party, Viktor Orbán, has conceded his team’s defeat and congratulated Magyar on his victory.

Orbán, in turn, remarked that the election results are clear, though painful for him. He also stated that his party would continue to work for the benefit of Hungary while in opposition.

Magyar has already received congratulations from EU leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who emphasized that “Hungary has made a choice in favor of Europe.”
