Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of the “Strong Georgia — Lelo” party, stated that the outcome of the elections in Hungary confirmed that even authoritarian regimes can be ended through elections. He added that pro-European forces in Georgia would soon celebrate a “convincing victory over the corrupt pro-Russian regime.”

He congratulated the Hungarian people and called on the Georgian people to join the struggle.

“Very soon, in Georgia as well, we will celebrate a convincing victory over the corrupt pro-Russian regime,” he noted.

The defeat of Viktor Orbán, he believes, is a defeat for Moscow. The politician suggested that, following a domino effect, defeats for the leaders of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Serbia would soon follow.

“On behalf of ‘Strong Georgia,’ I congratulate Péter Magyar, the entire Hungarian people, and the international community, which for 16 years has awaited the day when the Orbán regime would end and Hungary would return to the fold of a free Europe. Yesterday confirmed that even authoritarian regimes can be ended through elections.

Yesterday, the Hungarian people triumphantly ended a regime that was much stronger, more talented, and more influential than ‘Georgian Dream’,” the opposition figure stated.

The representative of “Lelo” emphasized that “the Orbán regime was crushingly defeated” — proving that the struggle always has meaning.

Gegelia noted that “no system is unshakable, and no rigged system can withstand the will of the people when citizens turn out en masse against the regime in elections.”

“The return of the Hungarian people to Europe is a direct defeat for Moscow. By the domino principle, we will soon see the same in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, and, of course, in Georgia, where a corrupt pro-Russian satellite — an anti-Georgian regime imposed on Georgians — continues to drown our country in corruption and lead it toward Russification.

Yesterday, the Hungarian people finished off ‘Georgian Dream’s’ only partner in Europe, and very soon the Georgian people will finish off its satellite regime,” Grigol Gegelia declared.

The opposition politician emphasized that the main lesson is “struggle instead of a boycott.”
