The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze, held a meeting in Tbilisi with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty, who is currently in the country on an official visit.
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) stated that during the meeting, the Minister provided the Commissioner with detailed information regarding the ministry’s activities, its priority areas, and both ongoing and completed reforms.
The parties discussed the human rights situation in Georgia.
“At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides considered prospects for future cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Council of Europe,” the statement read.
