Levan Machavariani, a Member of Parliament from Georgian Dream (Kartuli Otsneba), stated that the remarks regarding Georgia made by Péter Magyar, leader of the party that won the Hungarian elections, are welcomed.

He noted that he looks forward with optimism to the continuation of these relations at the same level maintained under Viktor Orbán, who is soon to leave the office of Prime Minister of Hungary.

He congratulated Péter Magyar on his victory in the parliamentary elections.

“We congratulate Mr. Magyar on his victory. This is the decision of the Hungarian people, and we, naturally, respect it.

Regarding Mr. Orbán, I can say that we are truly grateful to him and his government for the partnership they have provided to Georgia over many years. We hope that similar relations will continue with the new government.

We have heard Mr. Magyar’s first comment. He also made a statement regarding Georgia, which is certainly welcomed. We look forward with optimism to the continuation of these relations at the same level they were under Mr. Orbán,” Machavariani stated.

As a reminder, Péter Magyar, leader of the Tisza party, which won the parliamentary elections in Hungary, stated that he will continue to deepen relations with Georgia, would be pleased to visit Tbilisi, and emphasized that Hungary will not interfere in the internal affairs of any country.
