As of April 1, 2026, there are 1,116,541 registered business entities in Georgia, of which only 27% are active. This is according to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). Out of the total number of entities, only 305,502 are currently operating.
Regarding types of activity, the highest number of inactive companies is found in the wholesale and retail trade sector, as well as in the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. A total of 221,333 companies are registered in this field, of which approximately 137,111 (62%) are non-functional.

- Transportation and storage — 50,651 registered, 28,215 active (44% inactive);
