Georgian judoka Lasha Shavdatuashvili claimed the European title in the under-73kg weight category at the European Judo Championships currently taking place in Tbilisi.
In the final, he defeated his Azerbaijani opponent, Hidayat Heydarov. Shavdatuashvili secured the victory in extra time.
Additionally, at the same championships in Tbilisi, judoka Eter Liparteliani became the European champion in the under-57kg category.
