Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has congratulated Rumen Radev, the euroskeptic leader of the “Progressive Bulgaria” coalition, on his victory in Bulgaria’s snap parliamentary elections.
According to preliminary official results, former president Rumen Radev is leading the elections in Bulgaria. After counting 91.7% of the ballots, Radev’s “Progressive Bulgaria” party received 44.7% of the vote.
In second place is the “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” coalition with 13.2%, while the GERB party of former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is in third with 13.4%.

“Congratulations to Mr. Rumen Radev and his team on their victory in the Bulgarian elections. Georgia looks forward to further strengthening our long-standing friendship and deepening our robust partnership,” the Georgian Prime Minister wrote on X.
Additionally, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also issued a congratulatory message on the victory of Rumen Radev’s party, emphasizing that Bulgaria is a proud member of the European family and plays an important role in overcoming our shared challenges.
