Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili stated that the implementation of the Trump Tower Tbilisi project in Georgia will not only help attract investment but will also set a new standard for the real estate market as a whole.
The politician noted that the entry of US President Donald Trump and his company into Georgia confirms that the country possesses a favorable investment climate and is economically attractive to all.
Addressing the opposition’s assessments of the Trump Tower Tbilisi construction project, Papuashvili stated that “the opposition will likely declare Americanization to be a problem.”
“I do not know what the opposition will say this time—they will probably declare Americanization to be some kind of problem. In reality, it is very simple. According to various recent data, Georgia is a leader in economic development rates globally, not just in the region.
On the other hand, Georgia is an island of peace and stability in a region where new conflicts are emerging and escalating. Thirdly, the state structure and its governance are among the most successful, and all objective international studies—whether regarding low corruption levels, high governance quality ratings, or other indicators—demonstrate that Georgia is a leader,” he stated.
The Speaker pointed out that it is precisely due to these conditions that a favorable investment climate has been created in Georgia, making it economically attractive to everyone. The plans to build Trump Tower Tbilisi, Papuashvili added, are a testament to this.
“When Trump’s company enters Georgia under its own name and brand, it means they are well-acquainted with the existing environment.
Of course, Trump and his company value the reputation they have built over the years, and it is with this reputation that they are entering this business project, which is important.
This fact in itself is significant for attracting other investments, as such a brand arrives and expresses confidence in Georgia and its potential. Accordingly, this will not only stimulate investment but will also set a new standard in the real estate market as a whole,” Papuashvili stated.
