Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, stated following a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council that Georgia has yet to show readiness to halt its democratic backsliding.
“Georgia is showing no signs of reversing its democratic backsliding. The ministers had a clear message: Georgia must change course, and certainly, meaningful participation in the human rights dialogue would be a sign that they intend to change that course,” the EU official stated.
