“Today’s personnel carousel is further evidence of the legitimacy crisis facing the Ivanishvili regime,” stated the “Opposition Alliance.” The opposition coalition believes that the circle of people Bidzina Ivanishvili trusts to uphold his power is rapidly narrowing.
“To carry out its harmful intentions, the regime vitally requires internal stability; however, this stability has become an unattainable goal: the circle of people Ivanishvili trusts to rely on in power is quickly shrinking.
The continuous and unyielding resistance of Georgian society has brought the autocratic oligarch to this state. The policy of non-recognition and non-cooperation, coupled with international sanctions, prevents the regime from normalizing the situation; the crisis of trust within ‘Georgian Dream’ (the ruling party) is deepening.
The ‘Opposition Alliance’ will continue its policy of non-recognition and non-cooperation until it finally strips the regime—an ally of Russia—of its support and returns the captured state to the service of the Georgian people.
Following this, our task will be to establish the rule of law and justice, restore trampled civil rights and freedoms, ensure national security, and achieve the irreversible return of Georgia to its historical path of Euro-Atlantic development. On May 26 at 19:00—a march from TSU (Tbilisi State University) Building I to the Parliament!” the statement reads.
As a reminder, on April 21, another round of personnel reshuffles took place within the government.
