Nika Gvaramia: We Are Facing a Total Geopolitical Catastrophe

“The fact that the Minister of Economy traveled to China to address the Anaklia Port issue means only one thing: that the Americans have received an explicit and clear refusal from ‘Georgian Dream’ (the ruling party) regarding logistical and geostrategic cooperation,” stated Nika Gvaramia, leader of the “Coalition for Change.” Writing on social media, the opposition figure noted:

“The response from ‘Georgian Dream,’ as one would expect from a truly pro-Russian regime, is ‘no.’ This response signifies a rejection of Georgia’s prosperity, security, and safety, as well as its democracy. It is a rejection of Georgia’s best interests and its bright future.

We cannot allow Georgia’s future to be hijacked by Russia, even if it is by Chinese hands. Under no circumstances! Especially considering the conditions proposed by the predatory Chinese state-owned company—a free economic zone and the buyout of the Georgian state’s 51% stake upon the Chinese side’s demand. It is clear that we are facing a total geopolitical catastrophe,” Gvaramia declared.
