In Sioni Cathedral, the Locum Tenens (acting head) of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri), together with hierarchs and bishops, is conducting a divine service to mark the 40th day since the passing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.
The service at the cathedral began at 10:00.
Following the completion of the Liturgy, a memorial service (*panikhida*) will be held for the repose of the soul of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Pitsunda and Tskhum-Abkhazia, Ilia II.
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia passed away on March 17. He was buried on March 22 in the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral.
