Parliament Approves Creation of State Minister Post for Law Enforcement Coordination

The Parliament of Georgia has supported an initiative to establish the position of State Minister for Law Enforcement Coordination within the country’s government.

Amendments to the Law “On the Structure, Powers, and Rules of Procedure of the Government of Georgia” were reviewed by lawmakers under an expedited procedure and passed in the third reading with 84 votes in favor and 10 against.

According to the document, the State Minister’s powers will be defined by a government decree. The Administration of the Government of Georgia will provide material, technical, and organizational support for the office’s activities.

Mamuka Mdinaradze will take the position of State Minister for Law Enforcement Coordination.
