Maka Bochorishvili Discusses Georgian-Ukrainian Relations with Andrii Sybiha

On May 6, at the initiative of the Ukrainian side, a telephone conversation took place between Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, according to the Georgian Foreign Ministry.

“During the conversation, Georgian-Ukrainian relations were discussed, and the importance of dialogue and further steps in this direction were emphasized,” the ministry’s statement said.

Andrii Sybiha provided more details about the phone call via social media.

“I was pleased to continue the dialogue with my Georgian colleague Maka Bochorishvili following recent contacts in Yerevan.

During our phone call today, we noted the constructive dialogue between our countries and agreed on a mutual interest in normalizing Ukrainian-Georgian relations.

We discussed bilateral relations and cooperation within international organizations. We also reaffirmed our readiness to advance bilateral cooperation and maintain active contact,” Sybiha wrote.

As a reminder, on May 4, a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Volodymyr Zelenskyy took place in Yerevan on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit. According to the Georgian government administration, that communication was also initiated by the Ukrainian side. The meeting was also attended by the Foreign Ministers of Georgia and Ukraine, Maka Bochorishvili and Andrii Sybiha.
