ergneti News

The 132nd meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was held in the village of Ergneti, Gori Municipality, on May 14, according to the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG).

The meeting featured a detailed review of incidents recorded since the previous session along the occupation line and within the Tskhinvali region.

Tbilisi representatives once again raised the issue of the murder of Georgian citizen Tamaz Ginturi, reiterating their demand that the perpetrators — members of the Russian occupation forces — be held accountable.

A firm call was also made for the immediate release of all citizens currently being held in illegal detention in the occupied region of Georgia.

“The illegal and so-called practice of ‘borderization,’ which poses a significant danger, was once again condemned. Furthermore, the persistent nature of fundamental human rights violations in the occupied Tskhinvali region was emphasized, with a strong demand for the restoration of the rights of those affected by this destructive practice,” the agency noted.

The parties also discussed restrictions on freedom of movement: the operating regime of the so-called crossing points and the related limitations imposed on local residents.

The next IPRM meetings in Ergneti are scheduled for July 23 and September 8, 2026.
