Tsotne Ivanishvili, the son of the billionaire founder and honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, has stated that he condemns the violence during the protests of November–December 2024 and considers any of its manifestations “completely unacceptable.”

According to him, relevant agencies are already investigating the instances of violence, and the authorities are taking specific steps in this direction.

Tsotne Ivanishvili also commented on the public reaction to his previous statement condemning the violence, noting that following his remarks, theories emerged suggesting it was a “strategic move” and an attempt to launch a political career. He dismissed these suggestions as “unserious” and emphasized that he has held the same position for a long time.

“Exactly one year ago, on May 17, I stated exactly the same thing. My position on this issue has always been consistent. Any kind of violence, in any direction, should be avoided as much as possible. At the same time, order must be maintained in the country, and the relevant agencies will handle the remaining details,” the son of the Georgian Dream founder stated.

Responding to journalists’ questions about a potential entry into politics, he ruled out the possibility: “Absolutely not, no.”
