On Family Purity Day, a procession is taking place in Tbilisi, moving from the Kashveti Church to the Holy Trinity Cathedral — Sameba.
The procession includes parishes and clergy, as well as Sunday schools from both the Mtskheta-Tbilisi Eparchy and other dioceses of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
At the Sameba Cathedral, the faithful arriving after the prayer procession will be blessed by the new Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Shio III.
The service will be attended by delegations from various local churches that have arrived in Georgia specifically for the enthronement of Shio III, along with other guests and representatives of the clergy and monasticism of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
