Relatives of those detained during pro-European protests have announced that they will join a rally on May 26, which was previously called by the “Opposition Alliance.”
Speaking outside the Georgian Parliament on Rustaveli Avenue, they stated that it is important to be in the same place where they believe their imprisoned loved ones would have stood on that day.
“The whole world knows that these prisoners of the regime are being held in unlawful detention for defending Georgia’s dignity and for their love of the country. It is important for us to do what these most honorable people would have done.
On May 26, we are joining the national holiday. May 26 is Georgia’s Independence Day, and it is crucial to be where any young man or woman who is currently in unlawful detention would have stood,” stated Nika Katsia.
