The Iranian Embassy in Georgia has issued a statement regarding Family Sanctity Day, which was observed in the country on May 17.
The open letter states that Iranian diplomats, along with the families of embassy staff—including the Consul General, Cultural Counselor, Military Attaché, and Public Diplomacy Counselor—participated in the events and expressed their support for the Georgian people.
It emphasized that in Iran, as in Georgia, the family is perceived not only as a social institution but as the foundation of societal identity, moral values, and resilience.
«We stood sincerely alongside people who, like the Iranian people, view the family not only as a social institution but as a pillar of societal identity, morality, and resilience.
The protection of family dignity, respect for human dignity, and the preservation of moral values in Iran and Georgia are an integral part of the historical and cultural memory of both nations. In a world increasingly influenced by cultural extremism, immorality, and social divisions, the family remains the safest haven for individuals and the most vital guarantee of social unity and tranquility.
No society can achieve success, dignity, and genuine unity without a healthy, caring, and respected family. Protecting the sanctity of the family from the threats of the modern world is our shared responsibility.
Our presence today alongside the Georgian people was not merely a symbolic gesture; it was an expression of a deep and firm conviction regarding the importance of the family, as enshrined in Iranian culture and Islamic teachings,» the diplomatic mission’s open letter stated.
