Car rams gates of the Patriarchate of Georgia; driver detained

A car crashed into the courtyard of the Patriarchate of Georgia in Tbilisi, damaging a security barrier, breaking through the gates, and hitting a vehicle belonging to a Patriarchate employee. No one was injured in the incident.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver was swearing, making offensive statements directed at the Church and the new Catholicos-Patriarch, throwing bottles from the car, and shouting profanities.

An investigation is underway at the scene, and the area has been cordoned off.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, one person has been detained in connection with the incident. The investigation is being conducted under Article 187 of the Criminal Code, which establishes liability for property damage.
