The US Embassy stated that representatives of the US Department of State have arrived in Georgia. They arrived in the country on May 24 and will hold meetings until May 29.

The US diplomatic mission reported that during the visit, the State Department representatives will meet with representatives of the Georgian government, political parties, and the business sector. A meeting with religious leaders is also planned.

“The meetings will focus on the need to find ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as on enhancing the well-being of the Georgian and American peoples,” the embassy’s statement said.

The US Embassy did not specify the composition of the delegation; however, at a briefing on May 25, the Prime Minister of Georgia reported the visit of Peter Andreoli, a representative of the US State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, noting that during the visit, the parties plan to discuss the details of bilateral cooperation.
