Georgian Dream has filed a complaint against the BBC for the third time. According to the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, the ruling party is “scrupulously addressing this issue” and is awaiting a response from the British broadcaster.

“A great deal of work is being done to ensure that our appeals are of high quality and well-substantiated, and I want to assure you right now that this is indeed the case. We are waiting for a response, which we have not yet received. We shall see,” Papuashvili stated.

As a reminder, Georgian Dream has been demanding an apology from the British media outlet for several months over a report on the alleged use of banned chemical substances against demonstrators.

According to the investigation, during the dispersal of the 2024 protests, police used a dangerous chemical substance — bromobenzyl cyanide (CA), also known as “camite.”

The 2025 report of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) emphasizes that the information presented in the BBC investigation regarding the alleged use of the so-called chemical weapon “camite” against protesters in Georgia is deliberate disinformation.
