Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Armenia’s future depends on the choice of its citizens in the upcoming elections, urging them to “save” their country. Speaking to reporters at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Zakharova noted that Armenia must be saved by its own citizens, who have the opportunity to make a choice in favor of their country, taking national interests into account, during the elections.
“They have every opportunity now to make a choice in favor of their own country, taking into account national interests,” TASS quoted Zakharova as saying.
According to her, Russia has never acted against the Armenian people. “It has supported, helped, and at times simply saved them in every possible way. But now it is up to the citizens of Armenia,” the diplomat stated.
