The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, Seyed Ali Mojani, commented on the statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding Georgia, stating that “America must correct its perception of the world.”

“A country that attempts to destroy other civilizations must first of all correct itself,” Mojani wrote on the social network Facebook.

Earlier, Marco Rubio expressed hope that the US would see a change in the current trajectory of developments in Georgia. Specifically, in Congress, Marco Rubio responded to a question from Congressman Joe Wilson, who accused the Georgian Dream party of supporting Iran and China and asked Rubio what should be done to “address the rapid radicalization supported by the Georgian Dream government in Georgia.”

The US Secretary of State told the congressman that his remarks reflected the “existing concerns” of the United States. However, he added that the Georgian government has taken certain steps that give Washington reason to believe it is interested in improving relations.
