“For us, as well as, I am sure, for all participants of the platform, Georgia remains an important partner, without whom the prospects of the ‘3+3’ format are unlikely to be complete,” stated Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin at the “3+3: Common Challenges and Strategic Partnership” session in St. Petersburg.

“We expect that the next ministerial meeting will take place either in Baku or in Yerevan. As we understand, negotiations on this matter are ongoing between our Azerbaijani and Armenian colleagues,” he said during the session.

“I would like to particularly welcome the participation of a representative of Georgia’s expert circles in our discussion… I hope that over time, official Tbilisi will also join our work,” Galuzin added.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia stated that the Georgian side would not participate in the “3+3” format meeting and that its position on this matter had been repeatedly voiced.
