Georgia’s Ministry of Education will gradually introduce new textbooks with an updated curriculum in the country’s schools.
They were developed by the ministry’s specialists. Parliament has already supported amendments to the Law on General Education with 77 votes.
According to the bill, the books will be integrated into the educational process during the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 academic years—by individual subjects and grades.
Ultimately, starting September 1, 2028, schools in Georgia will be required to teach students using only textbooks developed by and/or approved by the Ministry of Education.
This process will be fully completed by the start of the 2028–2029 academic year.
