Tina Bokuchava, Chair of the United National Movement (UNM), has commented on the initiative of the party’s founder, Mikheil Saakashvili, to renew the party. Healthy changes within the party are necessary, and despite numerous challenges, this process must begin, she wrote on social media.
“Regarding today’s statement by President Saakashvili on the openness, renewal, and reform of the United National Movement, I have long been speaking about the need for healthy changes and welcome his readiness to start this process in the party, despite many challenges.
Freedom to the prisoners of the regime! Victory to Georgia!” — Bokuchava wrote.
Mikheil Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia, has announced radical changes in the party he founded. According to a statement published on his Facebook page, well-known journalist Nanuka Zhorzholiani is joining the United National Movement.
Saakashvili believes that the party must open up to new people.
“While maintaining respect for experienced personnel, it is necessary to introduce flexibility and decentralization, urgently master new technologies, and create a modern fundraising system,” the imprisoned opposition politician wrote.
