“Your fabricated sentences will not stop me and cannot stop me! To the end!” — writes Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, in an appeal distributed from her place of detention. Khoshtaria states that since 2022 she has been working on imposing sanctions against what she called “traitor-Russians” and has cooperated on this issue with Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
“Pathetic pro-Russian ‘Dreamers’!
Now listen to me carefully.
- I have always had and, to the best of my ability, will continue to have everything necessary for protest actions from among non-violent means: lasers, gasoline generators, foam rubber, blankets, and beanbags. I say “non-violent” not because I am afraid of you, but because between the two of us, you are the violent ones, while I am precisely the one fighting against violence.
And just because you strain to pronounce the words “laser” and “firework,” they will not become violent objects. I will always have them with me when needed. Also, anyone who engages in violence and calls themselves a police officer will receive a response to their actions—as they have already received from me more than once. Ask Memanishvili, the Telavi police, the security guards of Pozner’s banquet, and others.
- Furthermore, since 2022, I have worked, am working, and will continue to work on introducing sanctions against traitor-Russians. On this issue, I have cooperated with Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
I am proud of this work, and your fabricated punishments will not stop me and cannot stop me. I think I have explained this clearly enough.
P.S. Pass this on to that woman whom you dressed in a robe and are passing off as a judge.
To the end!” — wrote Khoshtaria.
