Salome Zourabichvili, the fifth president of Georgia, has called for the creation of a united front against the country’s authorities. According to her, the defining characteristics of an authoritarian regime are the tolerance, encouragement, and use of systemic violence.

She pointed out that “Dream” [Georgian Dream] relies on corruption, which serves as one of the foundations of the “Ivanishvili regime’s” existence.

Zourabichvili argues that the system of power is nearing its end, as it is no longer able to guarantee protection to the groups upon which its stability has long relied.

The politician also recalled the period of rule by “Natzdvizhenie” (United National Movement), pointing to footage of prison torture that completely eroded trust in the authorities of that era, even among their supporters.

Zourabichvili writes that in recent months, disillusionment has grown within Georgian society, affecting both circles close to the authorities and members of the security forces.

«The main conclusions from what is happening are the weakening of the regime’s support base and the shift of fear into the ranks of the government itself», — she writes.

Within “Georgian Dream,” according to her, mistrust is growing and there is no unity, which she believes is a sign of the approaching end of the rule of Ivanishvili’s party.

Therefore, Salome Zourabichvili calls for the formation of a united front against the authorities.

«The time has come to create a united front, which is the only way to defeat such a regime. All against one. And by ‘all,’ I mean everyone who thinks about the future and the salvation of this country. This inevitable struggle can no longer wait for the unattainable unification of political parties. The time has come for national unity», — the politician writes.
