Tina Bokuchava, the chairwoman of the UNM (United National Movement), has once again commented on the developments surrounding the political alliance and the statement by former president Mikheil Saakashvili regarding the nomination of journalist Nanuka Zhorzholiani for the post of the new party leader. Bokuchava wrote on social media:

“Due to calls from journalists, I find it necessary to once again clearly clarify what I said at the end of yesterday’s briefing: of course, I am staying in the ‘United National Movement’ and, of course, I will fight to the end! Georgia will win.”

As a reminder, earlier the party’s founder, the imprisoned third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated that “the party needs not just to be revived, but brought into shape, even better than it was in 2003.”

The current party chairwoman, Tina Bokuchava, responded to Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement in a comment to the media, noting that his Facebook post was “unexpected” for her and that she believes it is precisely such “impulsive and inconsistent decisions” that “brought us to the situation we are in now.”
