Members of the Droa party demand the immediate transfer of Elene Khoshtaria to a civilian clinic. Party representative Giga Lemonjava stated at a briefing that her treating rheumatologist, Maka Ioseliani, was unable to conduct a full examination due to the patient’s severe pain, but had reviewed the medical documentation and concluded that the disease is progressing.
“In addition to the primary illness, there are additional factors that require further testing. All of this is only possible in a civilian clinic, as the penitentiary facility lacks the conditions for a comprehensive examination, final confirmation of the diagnosis, and subsequent treatment,” Lemonjava stated.
The party noted that until now, they had deliberately avoided public discussion of medical details to prevent speculation. However, following the doctor’s conclusion, they believe it is necessary to publicly declare the need for urgent hospitalization.
“Every new day Elene spends without being transferred to a clinic, without the necessary examinations, final confirmation of the diagnosis, and treatment, is a new blow to her health. And this is no accident, but deliberate actions by the regime against Elene Khoshtaria,” the party representative stated.
According to him, the responsibility for the current situation lies with the Penitentiary Service, which, the party claims, should have diagnosed her in a timely manner and prescribed appropriate treatment.
“Today, thanks to the involvement of the rheumatologist, we have a clear understanding: Elene must be transferred to a civilian clinic for examinations and further treatment,” he said.
