The Secretary General of the European People’s Party (EPP), Dolores Montserrat, stated that she wants to send a “strong message” to all citizens of Georgia and those fighting for a full democracy in Georgia: “We are always on their side!”
The European politician stated that the EPP expresses solidarity with all political prisoners currently held in prisons.
“We are not going to back down. Our second message is solidarity with all political prisoners who are in prison for defending full democracy, the rule of law, freedom, and equality in Georgian society, and, of course, with all female journalists who are in prison.
Also, Elene Khoshtaria, who is the leader of an opposition party, is in prison and has health problems. We want to send a strong message to her and to the entire Georgian society. We must help them. She is a mother of four and is experiencing health problems in prison,” Montserrat stated.
