In Georgian schools, starting from the 10th grade, students will no longer study world history — only the history of Georgia.

The document on the changes regarding the 2026-2027 academic year has not yet been officially approved, but has already been sent to the country’s schools.

The changes also affect the subject of Chemistry — its study will begin in the 7th grade, whereas previously this subject was introduced in the 8th grade.

From the 7th grade, Georgian language and literature will be taught as two independent subjects.

The history of Georgia and world history will also become separate disciplines.

The changes will also affect primary classes in Georgian schools – the number of hours allocated to Georgian language and literature, as well as mathematics, will be increased.
