Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has sharply criticized the “Hague Declaration” adopted by the OSCE PA, which includes a critical resolution on Georgia. He noted that the document “does not even deserve an assessment” and undermines the Georgian public’s trust in the OSCE, adding that the OSCE PA has stooped to the level of US Senator Joe Wilson.

“This text does not even deserve an assessment. Unfortunately, such documents weaken the trust of Georgian society not only in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, but in the OSCE as a whole. This is very sad. We see that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has stooped to the level of Joe Wilson. This is a highly tragic development. Naturally, we will draw the appropriate conclusions from this decision,” the head of government stated.

As a reminder, before the vote, the Georgian delegation walked out of the OSCE PA session on the “Hague Declaration” in protest. The President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, noted that leaving empty seats in the plenary hall is the worst option, as democracy primarily involves a joint search for ways to resolve conflicts.

Ultimately, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted the “Hague Declaration,” which included a resolution on Georgia titled “Safeguarding the Integrity of Elections and Protecting Fundamental Freedoms in Georgia.” The main author of the document was Joe Wilson.
