Starting July 11, traffic entering Oni (Racha-Lechkhumi region) will be temporarily diverted to a bypass road, the Roads Department of Georgia announced.
The changes are linked to the restoration of a road section damaged by a landslide. The work is being carried out on the Kutaisi-Alpana-Mamison Pass highway.
During the repairs, traffic to and from Oni will be routed via bypasses through Sachkhere (Sareki)-Uzunta-Shkmeri-Zudali, as well as along the Gufta-Oni road.
Meanwhile, trucks weighing over 8 tons will be banned from using one of the local roads.
On May 1, a landslide damaged the roadway near the entrance to Oni. To maintain transport links, a temporary paved bypass road was built nearby. It will be used until the restoration work is completed.
