Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of the “Lelo – Strong Georgia” coalition, along with party leaders, continues to meet with regional residents. This time, representatives of the political force visited the village of Zoti in the Chokhatauri Municipality of Guria, where they discussed the most pressing issues with locals.
According to the villagers, the poor condition of the road infrastructure has remained one of the settlement’s main problems for many years. Residents note that in winter, due to bad weather, the village is often cut off from the outside world, making travel virtually impossible.
In addition, local residents pointed to a severe shortage of public transport, which hampers both daily travel and access to medical and other essential services. Another key topic of the meeting was the difficult situation in agriculture and the decline in corn cultivation.
According to the residents, in recent years, a portion of agricultural land has remained uncultivated because growing corn is no longer economically viable. They attribute this to rising fuel prices, increased costs of land cultivation, and labor. According to local estimates, many farmers can no longer even cover the costs of spring fieldwork, and the harvested crop often fails to recoup the invested funds.
“Lelo — Strong Georgia” stated that the purpose of such regional trips is to personally learn about the population’s problems and work on finding ways to resolve them.
