A so-called court in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region has sentenced Georgian citizen David Keburia, who fought on Ukraine’s side, to 14 years in prison in absentia, Russian media report.
According to TASS, the so-called Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic” sentenced Keburia to serve his term in a maximum-security penal colony.
The Russian side claims that David Keburia took part in hostilities on Ukraine’s side from March 2022 to January 2026.
According to the statement of the so-called court, the Georgian citizen, born on November 11, 1989, was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Mercenarism”). It is also reported that he has been placed on an international wanted list.
