Georgian Prime Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the European bureaucracy has descended into complete absurdity. According to him, while Georgia provides Black Sea connectivity for seven countries, Black Sea issues are being discussed without Georgia.
European bureaucrats, he noted, speak of the Georgian people and the government separately, “whereas the Georgian people have very firmly expressed their confidence in the Georgian government.”
“In the 2024 and 2025 elections, the government received the support of more than 1.1 million voters. This means very strong support from the Georgian people. When attempts are made at such moments to artificially separate the Georgian people and the government, this is the approach we previously knew in relation to our occupied territories, where the Russian Federation does not recognize Georgia’s sovereignty over 20% of its territory. Now we see that Ms. Kaja Kallas does not recognize Georgia’s sovereignty over 100% of Georgia’s territory, which is both amusing and a very tragic phenomenon for the European bureaucracy,” Kobakhidze stated.
As a reminder, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated in Brussels before the start of a meeting of EU foreign ministers that “we have practically no contact with the Georgian government, and we do not want to support it—we want to support the Georgian people.”
The EU discussed how to act in such a way that the Georgian people do not lose hope in Europe. In addition, Kallas noted that during the implementation phase of the Black Sea strategy, various countries located around the Black Sea play an important role, and currently there are difficulties regarding Georgia.
