The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has launched an investigation into a traffic accident involving Zurab Japaridze, the leader of the Girchi – More Freedom party, the ministry’s press service reported.
According to the ministry, the criminal case was opened under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which covers violations of road safety rules. The ministry also stated that the driver involved in the accident has already been identified.
The accident occurred while Zurab Japaridze was riding an electric scooter. The opposition politician sustained bruises and a concussion.
Following the incident, Japaridze underwent a medical examination at the Medi Club clinic, where police officers also questioned him as part of the ongoing investigation.
