Former high-ranking police officer Ioseb Sigua has called allegations of physical abuse and threats made by his ex-wife, Sofio Sigua-Shatberava, absurd.
Sigua made the brief comment following a hearing at the Tbilisi City Court, stating that “everything happening is absurd.” Both Ioseb Sigua and his ex-wife were present at today’s hearing.
The case is being heard by Judge Lela Gogishvili, who decided to hold the hearing behind closed doors.
Earlier, Sofio Sigua-Shatberava stated on the program “Nodar Meladze’s Saturday” that Ioseb Sigua had threatened to kill her, including promising to throw her from the 12th floor, put her in a barrel, and bury her.
