Tskhinvali has asked Tbilisi for assistance in searching for 21-year-old G. Babaev, who was swept away by the Liakhvi River.
The de facto Ministry of Emergency Situations of the occupied region was informed of the incident on the evening of July 25.
It is reported that the young man was floating down the river on an inner tube and fell into the water near the Solnechny neighborhood. Rescuers arrived at the scene, and search operations were conducted along the Liakhvi riverbed and coastal area.
Egor Kochiev, the plenipotentiary representative of the de facto leader, contacted the central authorities of Georgia via the hotline, requesting assistance in the search for the young man.
