The Minister of Culture of Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze, has tendered her resignation, announcing the decision in a Facebook post. In her statement, Rukhadze cited health issues as the reason for her departure.
“Following consultations with the Prime Minister, I have made the decision to step down from the post of Minister of Culture.
Due to my health condition, I must undergo a specialized course of treatment, and therefore will be unable to properly perform the duties of minister. Culture is a sphere that requires special care and attention. I deeply regret that my health does not allow me to give proper attention to the work I sincerely love and hold particularly dear.
I would like to thank the Prime Minister for the trust placed in me. I am grateful to every member of the government for their support and cooperation.
Thank you to everyone who supported our initiatives. I extend my special gratitude to every employee of the Ministry of Culture for their selfless work and dedicated service. I remain your sincere supporter and wish you every success,” Rukhadze wrote.
