The Government of the Republic of Nauru has officially announced the withdrawal of its recognition of the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. A statement published on social media reads:
“The Government of the Republic of Nauru announces the withdrawal of recognition of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia as independent states.
Accordingly, the Republic of Nauru is immediately terminating diplomatic relations with South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The relevant parties will be officially notified through diplomatic channels.”
