A fragment of an unmanned aerial vehicle has washed ashore on Georgia’s Black Sea coast near the resort town of Shekvetili. As the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported to the IPN news agency, an investigation has been launched under Article 280 of the Criminal Code, which covers violations of international flight rules.
Earlier, Tatia Nikolashvili, a member of the opposition United National Movement party, reported the incident on her Facebook page. She published a video from the coast, noting that the washed-up object “is presumably a Russian unmanned combat aerial vehicle.”
Police and emergency response services were deployed to the scene. The footage shows that there were numerous beachgoers on the shore at the moment the debris was discovered.
