For the first time in 22 years, a Georgian football club will compete in the main stage of a European tournament.
Tbilisi’s Iberia 1999 defeated Northern Irish side Larne 2–1 in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round, securing a place in the Conference League group stage.
Vakho Bedoshvili and Nika Sikharulashvili scored for the Georgian team in the 74th and 102nd minutes, respectively.
The last Georgian club to feature in the main stage of a UEFA-backed competition was Dinamo Tbilisi, which played in the UEFA Cup during the 2004/05 season.
