Yalta, February 1945. The official proceedings of the “Big Three” summit are over, and Winston Churchill asks Stalin for some brandy. A bottle of “Eniseli” is brought out; the British Prime Minister tastes the drink and exclaims: “Excellent, this is French!” “It is Georgian,” Stalin clarifies. Churchill insists, “Then it must have been crafted by French specialists.” At this point, Roosevelt joins the conversation, asking: “Then who made it?” “Chief technologist Vakhtang Tsitsishvili,” Stalin replies.
Everything in this scene is the pure truth, except for one thing: behind the brandy Stalin flaunted before the leaders of the Western world stood a man whose name the communist regime painstakingly erased from history. And that name was David Sarajishvili.
